The Seniors need you for Covid-19 relief

Hello everyone, thank you for visiting my project.

My name is Vicki Mah from Penang, Malaysia.

I am a humanitarian worker for the last 30 years. Now retired, I am living among seniors in Home in Penang.

COVID-19 affect our usual activities

Before the Covid-19 pandemic and the Malaysian nationwide lockdown, these seniors enjoyed the goodwill of local companies who through their CSR activities provided angpows (money in red packets) and gifts. Generous donors would come calling with angpows and gifts too. Volunteers would come to provide personal grooming...haircuts, podiatry services, games, and other activities.

Now all these have STOPPED due to Covid-19.

It has been 3 months since the lockdown. Hair has grown long, finger and toenails too. Depression is overwhelming.

Financial support for Senior Home in Penang

I have helped people in the last 30 years with funds from working in various fields, mainly in the hospitality industry.

I created this fundraiser to give some financial help to the residents of a Senior Home in Penang, Malaysia where I am living now.

There were 183 residents who live here.

Since CSR activities are stopped, I then decided to undertake to do the personal grooming for the residents.

I plan to use the funds to purchase personal grooming tools for haircuts, and podiatry services. I also plan to purchase a laptop to start e-commerce (myself) initiative to try to acquire funding to continue to fund future projects. But most of the funds from this fundraiser are intended as financial relief for the seniors to purchase necessities for themselves.

Help me to help them.

I am no longer able to personally fund my humanitarian projects as I am not able to get gainful employment due to my age though my passion to do so is still very strong.

Therefore for my current project, I have started this fundraiser.
