For my Breast Cancer Treatment

Hi, my name is Betina from the Philippines.

Currently, I fighting with breast cancer.

I need support to do the chemotherapy that is so expensive.

I diagnosed with breast cancer

Through our office's annual physical exam, it leads me to find out that I have cancer.

The doctor felt a lump on my left breast and asked me to monitor it. I had to undergo an excision biopsy to see if it is benign or malignant. I was diagnosed with have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma last August 2019.

My surgeon, after letting me know of the results, advised me to undergo Modified Radical Mastectomy, which I just had last February 2020. He, then, referred me to an oncologist.

6 sessions of chemotherapy and 18 cycles of Herceptin therapy is needed

The oncologist explained that to treat my cancer, I would have to undergo 6 sessions of chemotherapy and 18 cycles of Herceptin therapy.

This Herceptin therapy is required since I am ER-PR-HER2+. Knowing the expenses I will have to spend, I'm scared I won't be able to complete all these.

1 cycle of chemotherapy cost about the US $2,279

June 2020, I started my first chemotherapy, which should have already started May. It was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and due to the fact that I am still looking for funds to cover expenses for my medicines.

I had to ask for medical assistance from the government, but it was not enough. A few friends even decided to contribute to add support, but still, it was not enough. I still had to borrow money from people and pay them back with interest. But I will not be able to do that all the time. This will make me suffer more.

Below is a copy of the expenses I need for medicines, doctor's fees, and hospital bills not included yet. i need about 113.000PHP or equivalent with US $2,300 for one cycle of chemotherapy

There was a huge gap between the dates of my said surgeries, as you can see because I had to wait for my health card to renew. I don't have enough finances to support unexpected medical expenses. Now, after all, I have already done, there's nothing much left on my card.

This is now why I am creating this project. To ask help from people for my next chemotherapy sessions. I am supposed to have my second session today, but moving it again because I don't have enough funds again.

I am hoping that this project will help me raise funds for the next sessions.
