I need to go back home

I am Grace Paliso, I am staying in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal South Africa

I am raising funds for coming back to my home at Eastern Cape Umtata.

I lost my baby and want to give a funeral ceremony

I need funds to go home. I am miles away from home I came here to get a better life. I lost a baby end of February this year.

I couldn't bury that child at home and none of my family members could attend the funeral due to the Lockdown restrictions

An expensive funeral ceremony in my tradition

Besides transportation, I am planning to use the rest of the funds for a cleansing ceremony and a descent ceremony for my boy to say goodbye to him with all my family members that couldn't attend his funeral.

My budget is R25 000. R2000 will be for transport, the rest of the funds will be for the ceremony on which I need a cow

In my tradition when someone passes away we send them to our ancestors using a cow as a symbol of peace and to introduce the person. A cow is around R12 000 cheapest. Then I will buy food that will be cooked at the ceremony and pay for a pastor that will lead to prayer and the church service.

Currently, I am unemployed. I can't afford the costs as I am unemployed and I don't come from a family that could afford such costs. I also can't apply for a load because I am unemployed.

Help me to get a proper burial for my son

I am not coping where I am and I just need to be surrounded by my family and people who love me as being alone is not helping me with accepting what had happened

I keep myself busy by going to the beach and exercising, that way my mind can be off thinking about my son and take the pain temporarily away

I will highly appreciate your contributions no matter how small they are, they will get me one step closer to being with my parents in this difficult time
