♥️FOR MY MOM♥️

Growing up, my mom Mila has always been an optimistic person, and I appreciate this the most in her, especially when there are days I feel like giving up. I’m Sheila from the Philippines, and I am asking for your help for my mom’s recovery. My mom suffered a stroke about a year ago, and this left her weak, with a slightly lopsided mouth and limited mobility(hoping she can still recover from both). Due to consecutive unfortunate events in our family and the pandemic situation now, I am jobless and now, I am primarily taking care of my mom. After her stroke, I was unable to bring my mom to follow up checkups. Most of the time I am unable to provide her with nutritious food, maintenance medications, and vitamins. This breaks my heart, that I cannot even provide these basic needs for her and the fact that it is dangerous for her because she suddenly stopped taking her maintenance meds. (I have resorted to borrowing money in the hope to sustain her needs, past medical bills, etc. but lately it has been futile) I do my best to avoid crying in her presence because I do not want to make her worry.

With your help, I just want to move forward in a positive way. My wish is for my mom to regain her strength and recover. I see and feel that she wishes the same, but she understands our situation now. There are days that she suddenly feels dizzy, her arms, hands, legs hurt. When my mom had a stroke, the doctor said that she needs to continuously take her maintenance meds to avoid another stroke plus vitamins to help her immune system. Senior citizens like my mom are also very susceptible to the coronavirus. I am very worried about crowded hospitals/clinics/ health centers at present, but once things are better, I hope to be able to bring her back to the doctor for a checkup and also hoping to possibly hire a physical therapist for her in the future. Most importantly, I would like to start first with the steps for my mom to regain her health and strength, to be able to eat nutritious food, for her to continue to regularly take her medications and vitamins, and to provide her other needs.
