HELP FOR PAPA HUMBERTO'S FIRST CHEMO-THERAPY

Hello friends greetings to all;

My name is Christian Mejía Venezuelan, currently residing in Chile. I am a family oriented man and a man of Faith.

Today I start this campaign to raise the funds needed to start the first cycles of chemotherapy treatment of my PAPA Humberto Mejía, 57 years old, whom you will see in below pictures.

A stage IV kidney cancer with lungs metastasis

Short story, between April and May 2020, after some tests corresponding to his respiratory discomfort, he was finally diagnosed with Stage IV Kidney Cancer with lungs metastasis.

Currently he has lost 70% of his muscle mass. As shown in the graphs and the laboratory results, there was a progressive deterioration as a result of this disease. Currently, his hemoglobin is 6.3. It was very low, so we do as much as possible to get him blood transfusions to raise the level up.

The medications to treat this disease are not available in Venezuela

Sadly, we live in a situation where in my native country, Venezuela, the medicines to treat this disease are not available. The treatment and medicine prescribed by doctors is oral chemotherapy using some pills called 50 mg Sunitinib also known as Sutent which are the first-line standard for renal cell carcinoma, which were also known as a very high cost treatment around the world,

Sunitinib or Sutent is manufactured by very few laboratories in America and Venezuela no longer manufacture it. For this, it must be imported and its cost ranges between $1,200 to $1,500 USD per box. It is an amount that unfortunately we cannot afford. As a family, we do not have enough resources to combat this disease, but we must comply for at least the first cycle of the treatment in order to get some of the indicated recovery.
