Preston Davids Memorial

Hi everyone,

"It is with a heavy heart and our deepest condolences that we must convey such terrible news. Sensei Preston Davids passed away."

On 3 August 2020, beloved judo coach and friend to many, Sensei Preston Davids, became a victim of crime and was tragically taken from us. (please see the link for the full story, may have to copy paste into browser).

Our beloved Sensei Preston Davids

Sensei Preston was a great friend to many and a world class athlete. He was the head coach at Cape Schools Judo and Koga Judo Club where he touched the lives of hundreds of children.

He had a great passion for teaching "his kids" and loved them dearly.

Before moving back home to Cape Town, Sensei Preston was the Head Coach at the High Performance Centre in Bloemfontein. He also toured and competed in many countries and - in true Preston fashion - made a great many friends along the way.

We need your support for his memorial

The world has lost a good, kind man and we will mourn his loss with great sadness. His departure will be felt by so many around the country and other parts of the world. He made it a better place.

This campaign is to raise funds for his memorial so we can give him the send-off he deserves. Any funds over and above the cost of the memorial will be donated to his family.

Cape Schools Judo is administering this campaign on behalf of his family.

Sensei Preston is survived by his many friends, family and fiancé, "We will miss him dearly!"
