Please help my mom to support our family

Hi everyone,

My name is Solomzi Mthembu, a second-year law student. I live in Gauteng, South Africa

I want to raise funds for my mother so that she can start a small business selling chickens in and around our community so that she will be able to feed and clothe my three younger siblings. I will use the funds to build a hen house where the chickens will be kept, buy grains for the chicks to consume, and buy chicks which we will grow ourselves and sell to the community.

Our financial difficulty

I am a student and I have a scholarship that gives me an allowance which is not much. With the allowance I receive, I also have to support my unemployed mother, Thandi Hlatshwayo, and my 4 younger siblings.

This is taking a toll on me because I cannot afford to buy textbooks and I am struggling and constantly behind with my school work. Even though I support them with the money I receive, it is not enough because they are always starving and they have no clothes and I also starve. This causes a lot of stress for me and I am constantly depressed.

Planning to open a small business

I would appreciate it if you would help me so I can help my mom to start a business of selling chickens so she can put food on the table for my younger siblings and buy them clothes.

Also, I will not have to support them with the money I receive from my Scholarship. In that way, I will be able to buy the textbooks I need for my course and also buy food. This will reduce my stress thus enabling me to focus at school and become something in life, not waste this opportunity by stressing out.

I plan on using 40% of the funds to build my family a bigger and more reliable shack at a place where there are electricity and running water. 15% of the funds on building a secure hen house, using 20% to buy the hens, 15% for chicken grain, and the remaining 10% to buy my young sibling's clothes.
