Mommy Cherry diagnosed Breast Cancer

Mommy Cherry, a strong-willed woman, was initially diagnosed with Stage 2, Breast Cancer back in 2008. She had to undergo 6 cycles of chemotherapy and her right breast was removed.

The treatment was successful. She lived a normal and happy life.

Cancer has spread until her bone

Fast forward to Aug 2018, Mommy Cherry felt a lump on her right chest followed by significant weight loss, the unbearable pain of her ribs below the left breast.

She started weakening. Not long after, she was diagnosed with Stage 4, Breast Cancer which has already spread to her bones (bone Mets).

She had to undergo 24 chemotherapy sessions, 33 sessions of radiation therapy, and surgery in her left chest to remove the small tumors that were left by the chemotherapy and radiation treatments. All this happened last year. Thankfully, she withstood these aggressive treatments.

Today, the fight continues as she takes regular bone chemotherapy treatment every 21 days and oral medication.

Another Battle with Thyroid Tumor

Mommy Cherry routinely has her CT Scan and laboratory tests. Her latest test, indicates a tumor growing in her thyroid which may trigger cancer to spread.

Her Oncologist, Dr. Herdee Luna, strongly recommends having the tumor removed via surgery.

Our Financial Challenges, USD 8,628.30 is necessary to spend every year for her medical expenses

The COVID-19 posted a great challenge for Mommy Cherry to attain her needed medical assistance and treatment

The surgery alone would approximately cost Php 100,000. In addition to that, her bone chemotherapy treatment should be done every 21 days. The bone chemotherapy drug, Zelodronic Acid costs PHP 8,000. An additional PHP 4,000 needs to be paid to the hospital and her oncologist every session.

On top of that, she takes oral medication which costs PHP 371/day (Letrozole), routine laboratory tests, CT scan, and any other tests that are needed by her doctors to monitor her condition.
