A CANCER AND DREAMS

Hello everyone!

I am Chemar May Salvado, and I'm writing this to help my Grandmother Mama Ding, Enrica N. Salvado.

She's a great Lola and mother

She is 76 years old. Despite of her senior age, she was so energetic and everybody wouldn’t believe of her age.

She is a hardworking Lola and mother. She is a skilled dressmaker and that is her passion. She is my second mother, my best friend I can talk to. She is also my comforter and counselor. She guided me for everything. I finished my college degree, through her effort and also she was the one who encouraged me to proceed in the College of Medicine. That would be the fulfillment of her dreams out of her frustrated educational attainment.

She was pretty much healthy

Before March 15, 2020 Pandemic lockdown we were together delivered the sewn dresses, and she introduced me to her customers. We went to Cogon Public Market and she taught me how to buy meat, fish, vegetables, and others. She told me that, under the lockdown rules, the Senior Citizens were not allowed to go outside, and she was very much prepared for that lockdown and as well as prepared me as her technical arm to do things outside.

One month after lockdown, a month of abnormal routine of her life from a long rest and vacation she had told me to go a doctor, for shortness of breathing. Good thing it was not Covid-19, but still worse and we were advised for hospital admission due to lung pleural fluid.

She had a cancerous progressive tumor

She was so strong. Last April, from her first hospital confinement even, she was told that her lung had a cancerous progressive tumor.

She remained a strong woman

We continued her medication and fight the cancer. She had 90 percent of survival. Hope she can do it with our limited resources.

And she would be cured of cancer to witness my graduation in the College of Medicine a fulfillment of her frustrated dream.
