COVID19 WELLNESS CAMPAIGN Kakuma and Kalobeyei camps/KENYA

African Initiative for Human Development, AIHD2 is running a house to house and public places campaign in Kakuma and Kalobeyei settlement camps on COVID19 WELLNESS. 

We share the basic measures of prevention against COVID19 as recommended by WHO and the Government of Kenya via information sessions. We are also learning about the challenges and needs in the community due to the pandemic.

WEEKLY FOLLOW UP:

The organization follows up on a weekly basis to each household where beneficiaries express their thanks and demonstrate some to challenges to meet the basic recommendations as advised by the  WHO and the GovKenya. 

To have the maximum effect, our volunteers need the Gun Thermometers ( for the test of temperature in public places: churches and mosques) and sufficient face masks to distribute among the community members in both Camps to the more vulnerable persons which include elders and women with pregnancies. 

Meantime, the organization needs also to protect the volunteers by providing hand sanitizers, and jackets.

The availability or possession of such facilities will help the community to put in action what volunteers tell them and the organization to maintain safe the staff.

The use of collected funds:

Currently, AIHD2  doesn't have a source of income or a clear revenue stream to support the cost of such facilities. We have depended on the monthly support from an individual funder to begin offering the COVID19 Wellness program. However, in order to increase our impact and continue to provide the refugees in both Kakuma and Kalobeyei settlement camps with the necessary preventive measures, we need additional funds from you.

AIHD2 is a grassroots organization created and led by Kakuma refugees. The organization has been delivering impactful programs in the Kakuma and Kalobeyei camps as well as to host community for several years.

With your financial support or any kind of support, the organization will expand the target from 2570 to 7250 people informed about COVID19 prevention. Your donations will help us distribute the basic tools necessary for the prevention of COVID19 in the communities.
