BWIZA CHILDSMILE/CROCO SMILE PROJECT RWANDA

Greetings,

I am Habumugisha J.M.V, I am a Dental Surgery student from Rwanda.

I have an initial project called Bwiza ChildSmile to improve the dental health of children in Rwanda

inequalities in both oral health and access to dental services in Rwanda.

In my Village where I have grown up the almost all children are not able to have toothbrushes and toothpaste and this causes the loss of more school hours because of pain and discomfort caused by poor oral health and dental diseases.

Children are also the part effected by Covid-19 and management to prevent them from infection is difficult either they are at home or at schools when schools will reopen.

We took initiative to design this Project for promoting and improving the health of children And to reduce the inequalities both in oral health and in access to dental services.

Bwiza ChildSmile Project

Bwiza ChildSmile initiative was initiated to improve and to promote the health of children in Rwanda and to reduce the inequalities in both oral health and access to dental services.

Under Bwiza ChildSmile, Croco Smile project was designed to promote the oral health of children either at home or at schools by introducing daily supervised tooth brushing and also project empowering children to fight against COVID-19.

We took this initiative as 6 Dental students and 1 Junior Dentist, the Stage we are at now is the pilot phase where we are planning to expand the project to the whole country in the future. This project needs a big budget. We can't afford it ourselves.

Support our project

This project will empower children to fight against Covid-19 by providing face masks and prevention education, and introducing daily supervised tooth-brushing at nurseries and primary schools once schools REOPENING.

We have a big budget that why we have a goal of fundraising at least 1500$ per month.
