Help buy hand pedal wheelchair and food for orphanage

My name is Saviour Alorsor, I reside in Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana. My passionate desire is to see people rise to become the best they can ever be.

Background of Destiny Transformers’ Network International

We are living in a world of many inequalities where some lives are destroyed through poverty, disease, inadequacies in social intervention programs and many other life challenges.

I established Destiny Transformers’ Network International (an NGO) in June 2016 to be part of the solution our world needs.

Destiny Transformers’ Network International has a 3-fold mission;

- to give assistance to the needy, the neglected and the less privileged.

- to empower youths and women with entrepreneurial capabilities.

- to improve quality of life and standard of living in deprived communities.

Supporting a network of children homes

One of our major activities since 2019 has been to support a network of children homes (and orphanages) in and around Takoradi.

The Challenge

Our last visit to one of the children’s homes (Father’s Home Care Ministries) revealed a continual decrease in support from the general public due to the negative impact COVID-19 has had on most people. The home currently caters for 43 children (orphans and abandoned children) aging from as infant as 6months to 17years.

One other thing that struck me during our visit was, I noticed one of the children (Paa Kwesi) who has cerebral palsy was in an “improvised wooden box” hand pedal wheelchair. The pedals of the wooden wheelchair don’t work, as a result, Paa Kwesi has to be literally carried about whereas he could conveniently move around if he had an actual hand pedal wheelchair.

What Your Support Will Mean

Firstly, your good and urgent support shall help provide these children with daily supplies (such as baby foods, rice, canned foods, frozen chicken, tubers and vegetables) from now to at least the end of this year.

Secondly, your love and generous support will get Paa Kwesi out of his broken wooden box wheelchair into a proper (new) hand pedal wheelchair. Paa Kwesi’s life will be transformed.
