My name is David Lopez Ortíz, I am 33 years old, I am originally from the Department of El Progreso, Guatemala City, help me to make my situation better!

I have suffered a cervical spinal cord injury due to an accident

On February 5, 2019 I suffered an accident for which I was hospitalized at: IGSS Accident Hospital, in which they determined that I had suffered a cervical spinal cord injury (C3 to C5) for which they performed surgery on me fixation, later they detected that the initial fixation had undergone certain movements, so I could not keep my neck upright, later I had another surgery for anterior and posterior fixation at the cervical level in which they used screws and my own bone graft. p >

I was in intensive care for 6 months

From the moment of the accident, I was in intensive care for 6 months, during that time I had several operations such as artificial respiration (tracheostomy), artificial feeding (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) among other surgeries.

Currently my diagnosis is: Quadriplegia secondary to cervical 3 and cervical 5 traumatic fracture, used Colostomy and closed circuit urine catheter, I am at home due to covid-19 issues. Prescription medications include: Tizanidine, Dexketoprofen, and Pregabalin.

I need financial help to pay my hospital bills and continue to support my family

My economic situation has worsened considering that the IGSS has not paid me my corresponding pension since January 2020, which is equivalent to approximately USD4,000.00 and I have to support my family (wife and 4 children), because of what I have gone through a lot of financial problems, turning to loans, now I need help to move forward despite my disability.

I currently owe my house from January to date, approximately 9 months, which I need to pay immediately for my current situation.

The funds raised will be used mainly for the payment of my house, loans and basic payments such as water and electricity.
