We want to help people reduce the use of single-use plastic.

Hello everyone!

Let us introduce ourselves, We are a group of high school students from Taiwan, dedicating to eliminate single-use plastics in our community.

Awareness of plastic waste

We realized that the convenient takeaway culture in Taiwan causes mass amounts of plastic waste since one customer depletes one plastic bag.

Recognizing the mass plastic waste following the convenient takeaway culture in our country, we founded a student organization oriented to eliminate single-use plastics produced by the food and beverage industry in our community.

Un-plastify project: “Raffle Ticket or Plastic Bag?”

Our organization is now carrying out an un-plastify project called “Raffle Ticket or Plastic Bag?”, we developed a rewarding system, in which we give raffle tickets to consumers who do not take the plastic bag that the food stall offers.

In the plan, we visit local food stalls, explain our project to them, and persuade them to cooperate with us. By now, we have sought 30 cooperative food stalls. We provide these food stalls with our logo stickers, event posters, and most importantly, raffle tickets designed by us

This is how it works: our cooperative food stalls give raffle tickets to consumers who do not take the plastic bags that the food stalls offer, then by the end of every month, our organization draws out two random winners. Each winner will receive a 1000NTD reward (approximately 35 USD).

Besides operating this rewarding system that encourages people to reduce their usage of plastic bags, another goal of us is to analyze and understand the differences of achievement between different kinds of food stalls, then apply the knowledge to the real world in order to improve our system or promotion. We plan to collect the data on the number of plastic bags gathered back from each food stall, then analyze the statistics every month.

By announcing the data, we hope to raise public awareness of plastic waste and show how people can make a difference. Moreover, by analyzing the statistics, we will be able to revise our project in order to build a successful module referring to the outcome of different kinds of food stalls. Our long-term plan is to build a module that generally works well in all areas and can be easily applied to different places across the country by everyone

Support our project for a better nature!

We sincerely hope to offer more rewards in order to praise this meaningful action of not using plastic bags or using fewer plastic bags and encourage more people to get involved. However, we are still high school students and have a limited amount of scholarship. This is why we are here doing fundraising, hoping to improve our rewarding system.

All of the collected funds will be fully used for making progress with the project of our organization.

Finally, our ultimate goal is to help people cultivate a good habit of not using single-use plastic products, even without the rewards.
