HELP ! FLOOD VICTIMS IN CAMBODIA #help #FloodCambodia

Heavy rains since September have triggered floods and landslides in at least 19 of the country’s 25 provinces, including the capital Phnom Penh.

Some 120,785 families, or over 483,100 people, have been impacted, with 11,554 families – 46,216 people – evacuated to safer areas.

Heavy rains and floods have also ravaged neighboring Vietnam, where at least 84 people, including rescue workers, have been killed in the past week.

With a country having roughly 80% population related to Agriculture sector, this flood has proved to be a disaster when it comes to farmers. Along with loosing the house farmer has also lost all scope of future income also as his entire crop is destroyed.

This has been one of the most destructive floods which have struck across Cambodia. You can see below how children are trying to survive and travel on their way to school.

We need urgent help from everyone to help the farmers of Cambodia. We wish to provide help to all farmers who were hit by this catastrophe. We are using all our resources and contacts to help these farmers. Every $ of generosity from your end will help us make this impactful.

More rain, from moderate to heavy, is expected to come across Cambodia for some more days, therefore the country will face continued flash floods. The north and northwestern provinces, next to Dangrek and Cardamom mountain ranges, would be the most affected, the same source stressed. Below is the picture of the place of a farmer.

In Cambodia, the provinces of Battambang, Banteay Meanchey and Pursat are the worst affected areas. As of 19 October, more than 131,000 houses have been damaged or destroyed and over 12,200 households were displaced. According to Provincial Committees for Disaster Management, a total of 133,400 households have been affected by the floods, and some 319,000 hectares of agricultural land has been inundated. 

There is in need of emergency cash to help these families and provide them materials for their next crop cycle and offset their pending loans in order to survive in future.

AGRIBUDDY is in the business of boosting the economic base of farmers.

This is achieved through proper agricultural investment design and execution and the associated maximization of harvest returns.

It also requires a stable financing plan for proper agricultural investment.

The biggest blow would be the destruction of the economic base of the farmers that we have worked so hard to build due to hazards like this one.

That is why AGRIBUDDY is providing benefits to farmers to cover the damage caused by the failure of farmers to harvest their crops.
