School Building in Long Term

Hi everyone,

My name is Levi and I am originally from Lombok, Indonesia.

I am one of the tour leader and normally lead the trip in the whole are in Indonesia especially Bali, Java, Flores, Sumbawa, Gilis, and also Lombok.

Just to let you know that I have had collecting fund from this site before and decided to establish a foundation to support the children and the youths of Lombok for the long term to keep them studying while the school is closed due to this pandemic.

The Sasak Satu Swara Foundation

This foundation named Sasak Satu Swara Foundation and also known as Kampung Inggris Puyung. We concerned on the education of children and youths as their parents cannot fund them to go to school because of financial problem.

Among 34 provinces in Indonesia, West Nusa Tenggara was one of the region with lowest Human Capital, especially in Central Lombok, where I live. I was very lucky to have a scholarship and had good enough education and even being sent to the university while I was working as tour leader. But of course they aren't as lucky as I am to have those things.

Our Goals

Most of Central Lombok women went to Saudi Arabia to work as maid but there were so many of them having sexual harassments and sexual violation due to lack of education. On the other side, our men went to Malaysia to work in the depth of the palm oil forest, but they still have not enough money to support their children with good education. Therefore, our main goal is to upscale the Central Lombok's Human Capital so the children will have good skills and better options to work when they finish their study in this foundation.

We have very beautiful islands, the Lombok and Gilis islands. So, we believe that they can work here, if they have skills. But beside that, for some of the children, we are going to find scholarships so they could continue their study.

Our Class

So far, we still have only one classroom. Therefore, we need to build more rooms for them to study. Because of the information in social media regarding the launching of this foundation, there were so many new students come to visit us, to join with us, to study with us as we open this school for free.

What we need to build the classrooms

As mentioned previously, we are going to build a new classrooms, so we need certain amount of money as bellow:

- Cement 150 sacks= IDR 9,000,000

- Rock 5 truck loads = IDR 2,500,000

- Sand 10 truck loads = IDR 7,000,000

- Brick 10 truck loads = IDR 7,000,000

- Iron 150 rods = IDR 18,000,000

- Steel 30 rods = IDR 2,250,000

Note: we don’t need to put the cost of the builders because we will build the new classroom with the help of the community member and the parents of the children.
