Amalia's little but brave heart needs you

I am Amalia Maldonado, I live in Quito - Ecuador and I want to tell you my short life story.

That miracle is me

My daddies had been waiting for 10 years with great anticipation that God bless them with a child, when they had lost hope, a miracle happened, that miracle is me. When they found out that I was growing inside Mommy's tummy, their lives took a turn, every day they looked forward to my arrival. Even knowing that it was a risk pregnancy, their faces were always with a huge smile.

One month after my birth I became ill

On January 18, 2018 I came out of Mommy's tummy, I was finally able to meet my daddies, but the time I was able to share with them was not long, because a month after my birth I became ill, nobody knew what I had and seeing that my pain was not calming, they took me to the hospital. Can you imagine how hard it was? I was only a few days old and at such a young age I was learning how hard it was to be in a hospital.

I was diagnosed with congenital malformations

After doing many tests, the doctors diagnosed me with congenital heart malformations and that is how for four months the hospital became my home, during that time I underwent two surgeries, one to correct the aortic arch and the other for a cerclage in the pulmonary artery. My daddies spent the whole day from Sunday to Sunday waiting for any news about me and although they could enter to see me in short times, they were always together waiting for my recovery.

These were difficult times for them

These were difficult times for them, but even though my medical condition was complex, God put angels around me to help me get through it with victory. Although it has been some time since my last surgery, my little heart still needs to undergo one more operation.

I have a lot of energy

You know? Doctors are surprised to see me, as they say: I have a lot of energy. Can you imagine a small and skinny two-year-old girl dancing and singing the Juyayay as she could?

I am a small miracle that longs to continue living

Well, that girl is me, although due to my medical condition it shouldn't be like that, but my daddies always remind me that I am a small miracle who longs to continue living. Although apparently I lead a somewhat normal life, my little heart is a time bomb, I need this last surgery to restore my mitral valve and close the civ, that is, I must undergo an open heart operation, this will allow me to continue growing with my family.

I need this last surgery, I have come to ask for your help

That is why I come to ask for your help, every grain of sand fills my parents and me with hope to raise the $50,000 necessary for my surgery.
