Favelinho can't close his eyes and needs your help

I live in Puerto Madryn, Argentinean Patagonia.

Favelinho showed up on our doorstep last January when he was 45 days old.

I noticed something wrong with his eyes and took him to the vet who said it was bacteria and gave him antibiotics.

He already had many cats at home and could not adopt them. I tried to keep him careful with food outside the house, but every time I opened the door he would run in without a chance to get out. Sometimes I would sneak in and sleep behind the couch so he wouldn't find out, until he beat me to it..

The antibiotic treatment seemed not to change anything. She kept crying black tears that formed hard shells around her eyes. Also, when she went to sleep at home, I noticed that she was not closing her eyes 100%.

I took a second vet who diagnosed Entropion. He said his eyelids were inward and the hairs were uncomfortable and made him cry. By this time he had an ulcer in his eyes. 

He indicated the surgery I did right away.

That's when I was recommended an Ophthalmologist in Buenos Aires. I called him and with a diagnosis made by photos he showed me that he has Palpebral Agenesis, a bad formation in the eyelids, in his case, he is missing half of the eyelid in each eye.

One of the surgical techniques described for the correction of agenesis is the rotational flap, but due to the technical difficulty, it is a very expensive surgery since it involves a cut from the jaw to the eyelid, which allows sliding a forward flap until the defect is filled.

Favelinho needs surgery on both eyes, which would be a cut on each side of the face on different days.

Each surgery costs $20,000 Argentinean pesos, which would be $40,000 in surgery alone. I am calculating $20 thousand pesos in addition for the gasoline to take him to Buenos Aires and bring him back to Puerto Madryn. Accommodation and other expenses will be covered.

In January I plan to be in Buenos Aires for a month so that Favelinho can be operated on.

So that I don't lose my vision, every day I pull out with a tweezer the hairs that are growing around the eye, I apply three times a day the Corulets eye drops to treat the ulcer and prevent new scars. I apply tears every two hours to avoid drying out the eyes.

I can't be away from home for long and have to rely on the help of people available to apply the tears while I work.

Favelinho is very happy and loves to play with his little mouse and run after his brothers. The surgery would free him from that interference that I do every two hours to treat him.
