A Mother's Desperate Plea

Hello everyone,

I am Hilda Puig De Leon, 60 years old, separated and a mother to four children.

A mother's love for her child is unfathomable and unmeasurable. A mother's heart can sacrifice and hope to move mountains in order for her child to live.

I have spent most of my life as an OFW to brought up my children and provide their needs. I was hopeful when they have finished their studies and have worked on their own. Taking pride of what my children have achieved despite my absence while they are growing up. Yet, life seemed so unfair that it has taken away my son 3 years ago because of cancer.

Since then life has been so dim. A part of me died when my son passed away while I am not around. I still grieve for the loss up until now. I do not question God's purpose but I don't understand why I have to go through the pain over and over.

My daughter was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Cancer stage 4a

Now, My daughter, Janice De Leon, 38 years old, was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Cancer stage 4a. Though the disease is curable we are starting to run out of funds to support her medication.

Janice was previously working as OFW with me at Dubai and was misdiagnosed with myasthenia gravis, she was given wrong medications that worsened her condition. I then decided to send her to Iloilo, Philippines in June 2019 for a second opinion. It was found out she has cancer. She immediately had series of check ups, MRI and planning for chemo/radiation from July - October, 2019. It worked, and we thought she was fine.

Her condition is in 2020

Yet, first quarter of 2020, she felt her face getting numb again, she consulted the doctor again and underwent series of check ups and laboratory tests, it metastasized in the nerve near her brain.

She went through radiation sessions for the 2nd time. Unluckily, she lost her eyesight on the process and her eye sack dropped as well.

She used to have a happy disposition and a cheerful personality then. Yet as the day goes by she is like a candle with its light fading slowly as she started to loose hope and pity her self for the ordeals she is going through sometimes. Yet, her spirit is fighting and the love she receive from family boosts the optimism and the will to survive.

We pray and hope it would be temporary. She was hopeful she could go back to work again when she recovers. Without any second thought, I went home last October 29, 2020 to take care of her for a while until January of next year.

I will do everything to sustain my daughter's life to full recovery

I came home without quite enough money. I don't have savings yet since my son's death because of cancer. I spent all my earnings for him. I wasn't able to recover financially yet and now, my dear daughter is in same battling situation as my son's.

It breaks my heart seeing her in pain. I am doing this out of desperation. I will do everything to sustain my daughter's life to full recovery. I am knocking the doors of your heart to seek for benevolence and generosity for the continuing treatment of my daughter.

Whatever amount you can give can definitely help us augment her needs. We are not loosing hope and we will not give up on her. We fervently pray that God listens and she will win this battle in due time.

I can't bear to loose another child and experience such extreme, unexplainable pain. Your kind donations will be used for her continuing check ups, medical treatments, radiation, medicines, and other maintenance to sustain needs.
