Knowledge changes ones kids

We are students from Sunway College, Victoria University Program.

We are doing a project called online learning for B40 kids, computer laptop assistance. The main aim of the project is to seek money donations for B40 kids.

Who is the B40? What we can do to help them?

The B40 is calculated as households with a monthly household income of RM 4,360 and below. With COVID-19 cases increasing rapidly in the nation, learning from home is one of the things that no longer remain a choice, but have become compulsory. Unfortunately, due to lack of facilities such as laptops, tablets, there are a lot of students from the B40 group who have been informed to study online are unable to do so.

We established the Children Learning Centre in 2009

Knowing these issues, our team has started a campaign called 'Knowledge Changes One's Kids' to fundraise money for CLC - Children Learning Centre. It is a non-profit type of Children Learning Centre. The children learning center established in 2009. CLC has been involved in the assistance to provide help for children in B40 in our neighborhood notably Putra Damai on learning for slightly more than 10 years.

CLC has been providing face to face coaching on their school works and lessons to improve their English, Malay and mathematics. The children learning center has 40 students at the moment either primary or secondary students. Our targeted amount will be MYR 2,000.00. The money collected from the fundraising will be used to purchase Microsoft office (WORD, PPTX, EXCEL), antivirus programs for laptops. If there are remaining amount, it will be donated to Children Learning Centre to improve the facilities of the children learning center such as buying tablets, laptops.

Support the online learning for B40 kids, computer laptop assistance

This campaign seeks to provide students with equal opportunities to access educational services. The campaign is calling out compassionate people out there to donate money these underprivileged students who are eagerly ready to study but have little study resources. In the present circumstances of pandemic under COVID - 19, CLC needs to consider how to evolve to continue our mission to improve the learning capabilities of urban poor children mainly from B40 background such as in Putra Damai. Currently, the children learning centre has no electronic devices for the students to study e-learning. Therefore, by donating these children the laptops would assist them to catch up online learning. So that their education is not falling behind than others.

You can also donate laptops either brand new or used to the Children Learning Centre

The main aim of this campaign is to seek sponsorships (new or refurbished laptops, tablets, phones) for B40 kids the low-income group. The children learning centre that is going to be benefited from this campaign is called CLC children’s learning centre. It is located in SS 25/17, Petaling Jaya.

CLC has participated in providing learning assistance for children in the B40 area near us especially (Putra Damai) for more than 10 years. CLC has been providing a face to face coaching on their school works and lessons to improve their English, Malay and Mathematics. Under the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, CLC needs to consider how to develop in order to continue its mission of improving the learning ability of urban poor children mainly from B40 backgrounds such as Putra Damai.

The learning centre has 40 students in total either primary or secondary students from low-income areas. At the moment, the children learning centre has no electronic devices for the students to catch up online learning. With COVID-19 cases increasing rapidly in the nation, learning from home is some of the things that no longer remain a choice, but have become compulsory. Unfortunately, due to lack of facilities such as laptops, tablets the students in CLC children learning centre who have been informed to study online are unable to do so.
