We need to buy the most expensive medicine in the world: ZOLGENSMA

Hello friends! We are Marcela and Alvaro. On April 19 of 2020 we became parents of two wonderful babies. It was a beautiful and long-awaited pregnancy.

Lucas and Victoria are twins and were born by cesarean section. Over the months, we noticed very marked differences between Lucas and Victoria. Victoria was developing normally, while Lucas was much weaker. At 3 months of age, we took Lucas to the doctor, since his slow development seemed very strange, and we were referred to the specialist doctor. The diagnosis was 99.9% of being a child with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA-1 ).

The unexpected diagnosis for us as parents and health professionals struck us. We investigated the disease and the life expectancy of a baby with SMA-1 is 2 years of life.

Then we discovered that there was a drug called Zolgensma that could correct the genetic damage that Lucas presents and stop the progressive development of his disease. We started this crowdfunding project to being able to pay for the most expensive medicine in the world to save Lucas. Its value exceeds 2.1 million dollars and it is not found in Chile.
