Please help Phoebe to register as a Taught Masters student.

I am Phoebe Cheong from Sabah, Malaysia. This crowdfunding project will be used to fund for my registration fees (2,000 GBP) into King’s College London. 

I was very intrigued in the study of microbiome, which is the DNA of microorganisms from the gut. The human microbiome is 90% comprised of what is inside of us. I have spent much time researching on Masters programmes in local public universities. Local researches are done usually in the medical aspect, and not much community research is known. I did not graduate with a medical degree. As this is a relatively new field, as far as I know only the U.K. (and also only King’s College London) offers such programme. Others are usually Research Masters. Getting a taught masters degree in this field is crucial to me as my undergraduate course was in Food Science and Nutrition, therefore this Masters will be a new direction for my future career.

I have tried to apply for Chevening scholarship, and have failed to secure a slot. This is why I am looking for ways other than my own savings to fund my masters education.

My plan after completing this Masters programme is this: I will return to Sabah and contribute to the local community by researching the unique microbiome characteristics of all Sabahans. I hope this dream will be realised with your help in crowdfunding for my education. Every ringgit and sen counts.
