LBQ FOOD BASKET DONATION/MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS PROJECT.

CHANUA DADA LBQ ADOLESCENT AND YOUTH INITIATIVE(CHADALA).

       We are a women led group whose main mission is to improve the health and livelihood of vulnerable girls and young women in Western Kenya, both rural and semi-urban areas, through facilitation of Arts, Social activities, Advocacy, Networking and Capacity Building. Our vision is to someday have an empowered Girl Child society free from prejudice and inequality.

        Our main agenda of resource mobilization is to support vulnerable LBQ women and girls within Western Kenya, who have been highly affected by the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, which has affected almost everyone globally.Our project aims at supporting 20 vulnerable LBQ women and girls in the Western Kenya region,through creating Mental Health Awareness and also having a food distribution program. The food baskets to be donated will contain essentials like 3kgsSugar, 3kgsMaize flour, 3kgsWheat Flour, 3LtrsCooking Oil, 3kgsRice, 3kgs Porridge Flour, 3kgs Maize, 3kgs Greengrams, 3Kgs Sardines, 3kgs Tea leaves, 3pcs Bar soaps and 3Pkts Sanitary towels.

        In regards to Mental Health Awareness, our project aims at creating a discussion platform where we will hold topics related to Mental Health Problems with affected girls and young women, with the aim of finding preventive measures and solutions. These discussions will be in form of forums and open dialogues, hence come up with a support group where the girls and young women will freely mingle and share ideas on income generating activities with like minded persons for sustainability goals.

         We would love to start the project as soon as we have access to the required funds, as the main hinderance is the lack of funds to help run the project.We are anticipating to start the project soon enough as we already know where to start from and what we require to run the project.If we can manage this by the end of February 2021 or early March 2021,we will have brought smiles to 20 vulnerable LBQ girls and women who are undergoing tough times and have no source of livelihood.

        We plan to implement our project by buying foodstuff in bulk to be distributed for a period of 3 months.The funds will also be used to facilitate for the Mental Health Awareness 3 forums by purchasing required tools for the program i.e stationary,venue,meals and transportation for the same period(3 months).
