Help Fund Annie's Stereotactic Surgery (Gamma Knife)

Through life, we face a variety of unexpected situations. Some are good, some are rather unpleasant. Along with that, we meet people and in times of difficulties. However, being in a challenging situation does not prohibit us from extending our help to others. In fact, we become better through helping other people.

I'm raising funds to help my work supervisor and my former College Professor

I am Lara Jeunesse Villaruel from the Philippines and I wanted to raise funds to help my work supervisor, who is also my former College Professor, Ms. Ma. Annie Ayala-Masigon.

Both of us are residing in Iloilo, Philippines and are affiliated with a government organization. Working in the government does not give us a lot of money, thus, this project has been established.

She has Arteriorvenous Malformation

After Ms. Annie gave birth to her third child in January, she had a seizure, the reason why doctors ran an MRI. The results have shown that she experienced mild stroke without her knowledge. The doctors called it Arteriorvenous Malformation. Since then, she went in and out of the hospital because of her continuous seizures and severe allergic reactions to her medication.

Let's support her to undergo the Gamma Knife (Stereotactic Surgery) procedure

The said amount will help augment her expenses to undergo the Gamma Knife (Stereotactic Surgery) procedure, which is only offered in Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan, Manila. Aside from the procedure that will take at least 5 sessions, Ms. Annie would also need funds for travel and others (RT-PCR, lab tests, etc. as she is based in Iloilo).

The doctors said that Ms. Annie can take her time getting ready for the procedure (mentally, physically, and financially) but elaborated that it would be better for her to undergo the procedure as soon as possible to avoid other complications.

For a rough estimate, Ms. Annie would be needing at least PHP 500,000 (USD 10,500) for the procedure alone. The amount that will be raised through this platform will be used to augment in her sessions of Gamma Knife (if the collected amount will permit), along with her plane fare, primary medical expenses such as laboratories and COVID-19 tests, among others.

Ms. Annie is a wonderful mother and wife, not to mention her being a supportive daughter to her parents. She touched so many lives when she was still a teacher and now is the time to extend a little kindness.
