Dobry Bereg: a beach for the elderly and disabled.

My name is Elena Aleksandrovna, I am from the city of Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Territory, and with my appeal I want to support the initiative of the Charitable Foundation for Social Support of the Population "Hearts of Generations" from our city to create a beach for the disabled and elderly people with limited mobility.

We all well understand that the elderly and people with disabilities are the most unprotected and vulnerable part of the population, which is often deprived of the opportunity to lead a full-fledged lifestyle due to the inaccessibility of some facilities for physical reasons. Elderly people and citizens with disabilities are susceptible to the simultaneous action of a number of adverse factors. Their physical, mental, social, economic well-being are very closely interrelated. The decrease in the activity of this category of citizens is associated, first of all, with the termination or limitation of their labor activity, as well as the emergence of various difficulties both in social and household and in psychological adaptation to the new conditions of life of modern society, which indicates the real significance of this project for improving quality of life, both in the emotional aspect and in the aspect of health.

In the summer months, when the entire population rushes to the beaches, Novorossiysk wheelchair users, elderly people with limited mobility have to sit at home and only dream of sea procedures. The city is home to 17 thousand people with disabilities, including 600 of them children and only one beach has the necessary infrastructure for them. There are only 6 such beaches in the entire Russian Federation. The beach "Sudzhukskaya Spit" in Novorossiysk was one of the first in the Krasnodar Territory to receive a barrier-free status. This beach is a favorite vacation spot for wheelchair users and midwives. People come here from all over the Krasnodar Territory and from neighboring Russian regions. On the beach there is a wheelchair for swimming for disabled people and several sun loungers made of light alloy with special comfortable mattresses and a height lower than usual, so that it is easy to change onto them from a wheelchair. But one stroller, which also requires repair, is clearly not enough. In addition, the beach itself must be maintained in a satisfactory condition. A survey among people with limited mobility about the availability of city beaches for them showed that the vast majority are not satisfied with the state of this beach area. This is confirmed by an interview with a resident of Novorossiysk (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mG06sF9BAFs&feature=youtu.be), in which she says that a beach for disabled people is in such a deplorable state that even a healthy person will not be able to go down into the water, let alone a disabled person. The results of the survey confirm the need to implement the proposed project, since despite the step-by-step availability of marine procedures, for the bulk of them they remain just a dream. It is our task to make this dream come true. The developers of the Accessible Environment program did not consider it necessary to include beaches as a priority. As a result, an ordinary person with disabilities cannot get to the beach on their own. But swimming is one of the best types of rehabilitation for people with disabilities.

A specially equipped beach with all the necessary conditions could help the disabled not only of the city, but also of the region, as well as the guests of the city, to realize their right to good rest, to active physical and psychological rehabilitation. Within the framework of the fund's project, volunteers from youth organizations will be attracted, which will broadcast among young people a caring and attentive attitude towards people in need of help, as well as teach assistance to people with limited mobility and people with disabilities on the beaches.

Therefore, I really want to raise a sum to help the foundation achieve its goal. For example, enough to replace the old ramp for descending into the sea (which is approximately 150,000 rubles) by the beginning of May 2021 to start preparing the beach for the swimming season.
