Hello! I am Juan Estiven Muñoz, a student of industrial mechanics, with the intention of helping people who need it most.

I live in Medellín, Antioquia - Colombia

I wish to help people with reduced mobility in the legs. The project consists of modifying a traditional wheelchair, in order to convert it to a mechanical wheelchair, with the expectation that it can improve the motor skills of these people, increase their articulation and improve their health.

One of the modifications that this will have, is to adopt a position that allows the person to be almost upright, thanks to a linear actuator that is in the back that manages to lift about 153 kilograms, in order to have the possibility of autonomous therapy, because sometimes they do not have continuous accompaniment. When the chair is finished, I will donate it to a foundation.

With the funds will be to finish modifying the chair, as I do not have for more budget and missing several elements that are of vital importance, which are the balance points, bases for the components that control the linear actuator, battery, footrest, further strengthen the structure of the chair, etc. (I will leave a link to see it on YouTube of how the chair works and what goes so far, the video is a bit long as the actuator advances at 4 mm / s).
