Transgender activist and his family need help

My name is Yaroslav Hort. I am a transgender man, transgender rights activist in Ukraine.

I live in Ukraine. I am a migrant, moved to Ukraine from Russia.

For several years I have worked for human rights organizations in Ukraine. I helped transgender people defend their human rights, make a transgender transition, and provided support. I was the coordinator of an international consultation project for trans*people. 

Last summer, due to the COVID-19 crisis and other related issues, I lost my job.It hit me very hard, because I am very tied psychologically to my field of activity.I was deeply depressed. This requires medical treatment and a safe environment. My partner is also in a bad psychological state because of our whole situation. In this state, I can hardly work, moreover, it is very difficult for me to find a job. I look like a man, but I have female documents. Now I cannot change my passport because I have problems with Ukrainian citizenship. Now I am on the verge of losing my home due to the inability to pay the rent. And I have big debts that need to be paid back.

Now I need to pay off my rent arrears. About $ 1,000. Move to cheaper, safer housing. Because where we live now, neighbors threaten our dogs and us. I do not want to create problems for others and myself. It costs about $500 to move. My debt is close to $ 3,000. I really want to return this money, I am ashamed in front of the people who gave it to me.

We are both unwell. Medicines cost about a hundred dollars a month. I need an examination for a long time, which will cost about $300-400.

And we need money for food for us and our animals. About $200. So that we can live in safety for at least one month. Recover. And continue to act. Even now I continue to advise and help trans *people. I want to do it more efficiently and on a larger scale. I want to share my experience with other people. My partner is a journalist, writer and artist. She was previously a Depression and Dysphoria Consultant for a trans * help project. But she was forced to leave this job due to burnout. We both do street art. And we can do a lot for the world and people. But now we really need help.
