I am Sophia and I'm in grade 7. This year as my passion project, I am focusing on coral restoration.

Let's care the coral reefs

Coral reefs protect coastlines from storms and harsh weather, providing jobs for communities, and giving chances for entertainment. Coral reefs are also a source of food and new medicines for us and 500 million people rely on these reefs for food, money, and protection.

Without coral reefs, there will be a domino effect of destruction, destroying marine life's source of food which will lead to their starvation.

Money that I raise will go towards Coral Restoration FoundationTM whose mission focuses on restoring coral reefs, educating others on the importance of our oceans, and using science to further coral research and coral reef monitoring techniques. CRF TM works to support the reefs’ natural recovery process through the large-scale cultivation, outplanting, and monitoring of genetically diverse, reef-building corals. Large-scale and massive action is required to save our reefs. CRF TM has proven that this is possible after more than a decade of successfully outplanting corals throughout the Florida Keys, in return strengthening coastal protection and enhancing multi-species ecosystem functions. CRF TM engages and empowers the global community to join to save our planet’s coral reefs.
