Help us reach $80,000 for Flor's liver transplant.

We first met Flor when we were working for a multi-national company in the BPO industry in the Philippines. She is a fiercely independent, smart, and hard-working professional who has contributed greatly to the companies she has worked for in the past years. 

More important than her role as a finance professional, is her role as a mother to her 9-year-old son who is her pride and joy. Flor and her husband had spent numerous years trying to conceive, undergoing treatments which would oftentimes include surgery and numerous medicines. The arrival of their only son was seen as an answered prayer back in 2011 for the couple.  

In the beginning of 2020, Flor suddenly complained of pain in her stomach area which she promptly consulted with her physician. It was then that she was told that she had Biliary Cholangitis, an autoimmune disease of the liver caused by the slow, progressive destruction of the small bile ducts of the liver, causing bile and other toxins to build up in the liver. She was told that in order to survive, she would need to keep herself healthy until they are able to search for a liver donor. From then, it has been a series of hospitalizations and check-ups, draining Flor of her usual high spirits. 

In May 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, Flor was again dealt with another blow while waiting for a viable liver donor. This time in the form of breast cancer which has already aggressively spread, leaving no other option but to treat with surgery, a procedure her already weak body can barely take. The numerous check-ups and surgeries over the past months have left the family in dire need of financial assistance. Flor and her family are still fighting and optimistic that they will be able to weather this period of crisis.  

As you read this, Flor is being prepped for a liver transplant at one of the hospitals here in Metro Manila, undergoing work-up and assessment from the transplant team. All they need is a little help from each one of us currently reading her story. Any little help we can give will surely contribute to Flor getting to spend a few more years with her son whom she has prayed for a long time to have.
