Promotion of Women Empowerment and Rights (POWER)

Promotion of Women Empowerment and Rights (POWER), through Employment training, coaching to increasing their resilient and access decent employment and self reliance.

The project wills train 50 out-of-school girls and women age 15-30, in Food Processing & Catering Skills, Financial Literacy, Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) & Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR),and

Building the Capacity of Community Duty Bearers under the law on Domestic Violence issues (SGBV & SRHR)-

In (9) wards of: Oderai, Oderai, Majengo, Amoru, Pamba, Opiyai A & Opiyai B, Agora and Amen.

The project result includes:

- 50 Girls and women empowered with IGA skills, SGBV& SRHR).  

- About 60% of beneficiaries will be able to establish their own enterprises and paid jobs

- 70% of targeted women report increased skills and confidence demanding their rights and reporting cases of violence by the end of the project

- 50% of women report having greater control over resources in their households by the end of the project

- Safe, more equitable, healthy and solid community built were  Girls,  women and men fully enjoy their rights without violence

- Community empowered to identify, refer & report SGBV to health facilities and relevant authorities for further management.

Project Goal:

Overall Goal: Contributes in enhancing the welfare/wellbeing of vulnerable and marginalized women and girls in Soroti by empowering them economically, socially and Employment.
