Identity VerifiedGood morning again. I am Alejandro Riaño, artisan and farmer, coming to your generosity. Coping with the "normal" complications of bone marrow transplantation has not been easy. After a few months I have developed graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) which has affected 80% of my skin, eyes and liver.
I have to undergo a long treatment called photopheresis which, together with my weekly transplant checks, forces me to travel often to the cancer institute. I need help with transportation, food, basic services and medicines. The sales of our plants are not enough and we do not serve the public because we are in the cancer institute. COVID and the demonstrations have affected us too.
I am also in examinations for a possible relapse that is affecting my central nervous system, and if so I will have to go to the institute more often to receive a different treatment.
