My father has a stroke and urgently needs medical expenses

Hello everyone,

I am from Taiwan, my name is Mao Jia En, I am 30 years old and live in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City. I am currently unmarried and I am the only child. After my mother passed away from lung adenocarcinoma on July 4, 2011, only my father and I have lived on each other.

My father is the main source of income in the family. He usually earns income by repairing electrical appliances and installing air conditioners.

The problems we are encountering now are described in the following text:

On June 5, 2021, on the way back home after driving out to deliver the goods that day, my father was sitting in the passenger seat and I was in charge of driving. At 17:45 in the evening, my father suddenly became weak in the left half of his body. He said: Hurry up! Take me to the hospital! So I urged the accelerator and drove my father to the hospital for treatment. The diagnosis result that day was a stroke, which was caused by an embolism of the right cerebrovascular vessel.

When I heard the news, I was very sad really!

The problem I want to solve is that my father still has hemiplegia on the left side of the body, slurred speech, unable to stand, walk and take care of himself in the toilet. He has a nasogastric tube and a urinary catheter on his body, and he needs to be taken care of all day long.

On July 29, 2021, after the doctor assessed that his condition was stable, he immediately discharged his father from the hospital and transferred to the nursing home institution for placement. On August 20, 2021, he was transferred to another hospital and admitted to the rehabilitation ward for follow-up treatment. The road is quite long.

The reason for the need for fund-raising is that since my father fell ill, our family life has been completely troubled. My father is now unable to work and lacks income. He is currently spending the remaining savings, and the rent and living expenses are almost too much to afford! My father’s medical expenses, nursing expenses, and institution accommodation expenses are too large, and they are far beyond the affordability, and I don’t know what to do in the future.

Therefore, I hope to achieve the goal before September 30, 2021. As long as I can raise $1,500, it will be enough to cover my father's medical expenses and all living expenses.
