To Ecuador, neurological rehabilitation of my little son !!

Hi everyone!

My name is Angelica Anillo. My age is 40 years. I live in the city of Cartagena Colombia.

He is our beloved Yahshua. He was born on October 11, 2012. Due to a medication that I were having (metrotexate), I had many health complications during the gestation of the baby.

Our first EPS (Health promoting entities) did not warn us that I had to wait a long time to get pregnant, after a cervix ectopic pregnancy I had. We had waited him for 12 years. Yahshua was having Intra Uterine Growth Restriction (IUGR). born premature at low birth weight. He had syndactyly, which is a condition wherein two or more fingers are fused together, and got a surgery. He got another surgery on his stomach too.

At the age of seven, his neuro development is in delay. In Colombia, our basic Compulsory Health Plan (POS) do not cover many options or quality services for a child with special needs like him.

We must pay separately for Yahshua's therapies, ophthalmology and special lenses that was urgently needed for his -13 myopia. The EPS did not give him glasses because, as they said, his nose is not strong enough to hold the glasses. So we paid for his glasses apart. Yahshua also needs a special diet due to gastroesophageal reflux and lactose intolerance. The food is expensive.

We also must pay extra admission cost to his school for a pedagogical support because he needs constant adult assistance to develop his daily tasks and physiological needs.

We finally found a hope

Yahshua is currently receiving hyperbaric oxygenation therapies in Guayaquil, Ecuador with a help from an “angel”. He helped us to pay for the treatment that cost $4,500 USD

but we, as parents, have to pay the tickets, meals and accommodation for a month, in every 5 months. That is why we ask for your help. We have managed to cover those expenses for three treatments.

It is very complicated to spend dollars in Guayaquil with our salaries in Colombian pesos. It was hard for us. But we noticed great advances, especially in his speaking ability, his most noticeable disability. It is steadily improving. Yahshua is currently 7 years old, and we see a hope.

In Guayaquil, they have isolated facilities, hyperbaric chambers to do the treatment. Their facility is very complete and strictly monitored, hard to find the matching facility here. .
