Mitigating the Pain of Patients Living with Lupus

We introduce ourselves to you as the Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Foundation of Nicaragua, FLESNIC, and we are a non-profit organization that is legally constituted; our main effort is aimed at improving the quality of life and living conditions of patients living with autoimmune diseases with emphasis on Lupus Erythematosus.

Our country of origin is Nicaragua, we support patients throughout the national territory and our office is located in the city of Leon.

We work to reduce morbimortality for 18 years by providing part of their treatment for free, because our patients are mostly of limited resources, they can not afford their drug treatment which ranges around US $ 300.00 dollars per month.

We are living difficult times all over the world, and more acute in underdeveloped countries like ours. Currently, we do not have funds to purchase some specific medications to mitigate the patient's chronic pain, pain that often becomes disabling for the person suffering from it, which is why by BEING PART of our CAMPAIGN IN SEARCH OF FRIENDLY HANDS, Your donation will make possible the purchase of specific medication that will improve the patient's quality of life.

We want to purchase medicines such as HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE, antimalarials used to treat skin disorders, oral ulcers and joint pain caused by lupus, the monthly cost per patient is U$ 11. 538 dollars, and 65 patients take it; so US $ 750.00 dollars a month is needed and in this opportunity we want to request support for 2 months, which would mean a total amount of US $ 1,500.00 dollars.

Daysi del Socorro González originally from the city of Chinandega, came to the Foundation in 2014 at the age of 52 years, she is currently 60 years old.

Luz Raquel Zeledón,  54 years old, originally from the municipality of Chichigalpa department of Chinandega, entered in September 2019.
