Hello everyone.

Aurora Josefina Obando de Díaz. 71-year-old female leader. Venezuelan social entrepreneur and environmentalist, she has fractures of the tibia and fibula bones (grade 3) that require surgical reconstruction. Since 07/19/21 she has been hospitalized on the 2nd floor of the Hospital Universitario de los Andes (HULA) in Mérida, Venezuela.

She had to be operated on on 08/13. The difficulties of the hospital (only 1 active operating room) did not allow it. The cost in the private system is around $1,500 USD, not including supplies. A similar or greater amount is required for supplies, daily treatments and postoperative.

She is my wife, we are both retirees from the University of Los Andes, but our university insurance is literally deactivated (¡¡¡ It could cover less than $15 USD!). That is why we turn to this solidarity network. With all of our support, with her love, her prayers and her contributions, we will be able to rebuild Aurora's leg. Please share this project on your networks.

Who is Aurora and what happened to her?

Aurora Josefina Obando de Díaz. 71-year-old female leader. She is a cultured and social entrepreneur. Founder and current President of “Mujer Espiritualidad y Sociedad” (MUJERES, A.C.) - see link to her FB at the end -. For 18 years she sows dreams of Revaluation of Women and Awakening of the Feminine Consciousness. Through various activities and Karibay magazine (saber.ula.ve/karibay), of which she is the director.

She also sows dreams environmentalists, with the "Green Faces Committee" of MUJERES, AC On Friday 07/16/21, 3 days before what happened, she conducted the Inorganic Solid Waste Collection Day, in Plaza Belén de Mérida, Venezuela. Concerted with the community and some organizations and institutions.

On the afternoon of Monday 07/19/21 Aurora was walking on the route that leads from Mucuchíes to the place of one of his dearest dreams. Her little house "Mi Sueño" in the agricultural village of Gavidia, in the Merida moors of the Rangel Municipality. She built it in the exact place where, during a dream, her Spiritual Master told her: "I live here."

It's a three hour walk, but she enjoys it because she is an enthusiastic mountaineer. Also, as a naturist, environmentalist and yoga practitioner, he loves nature.

But the hand of destiny was waiting for her.

Thumping noises. Tumult of large stones that fall from the top of the mountain and pounce on it. She feels something push her and she falls. The stone that, if she did not fall, could have reached her head crushes her left leg. It's mid-afternoon, like 3:40. She is alone in the middle of the road. Unable to move. Bleeding out.

The rest was a succession of fortuitous events, from the hand of God. Someone who passes by goes to Gavidia for help. Her friend, Bedi Rangel, in the vehicle of a visitor to the town, takes her to the Mucuchíes Hospital. From there they send her to where she is now. On the 2nd floor, room 23, bed 233 of the Los Andes University Hospital, in Mérida, Venezuela. Waiting for the reconstruction of his left leg.

It should be operated as soon as possible. Tibia and fibula fractures warrant surgical reconstruction. The medical reports, x-rays, list of supplies and others, can be seen in the link at the end of the story.

Our children, Dhionel and Syva, with the support of friends, are taking care of her and managing what is required for treatments, operation and postoperative. Due to the pandemic, I have been stranded in Trujillo, Peru. The land where I was born.

We are both retirees from the Universidad de Los Andes, but, due to the situation in Venezuela, our university insurance is literally deactivated (it could cover less than $15 USD! ¡).

In the private system, the operation is around $1,500 USD, not including supplies. A similar or greater amount is required for supplies, daily treatments and postoperative.

That is why we turn to this solidarity network. Between all of them, with her love, her prayers and her contributions, we will be able to reconstruct Aurora's leg.

We want to see her again in her house of Gavidia of her, in her activities and in her spiritual disciplines.
