Re-constructing Nepal: bringing smiles back

Hello everyone,

Re-Constructing Nepal: Bringing smiles back, is a project set up to provide plastic and reconstructive surgery to the under privileged population of rural Nepal. Plastic surgery camps in Nepal are not encouraged by the authorities as they think plastic surgery as only a need for urban population. So, this project aims to raise awareness among the authorities of Nepal Government regarding the need of plastic surgery throughout the country along with basic medical needs in a country with over 8,000 disabled from the civil war as per government figures, frequent road traffic accidents, burns, trauma, congenital abnormalities and deformities etc.

Re-Constructing Nepal, will conduct various health camps and provide free surgeries beginning 2022. The aim is to create a sustainable non-profit organization conducting different fundraising events and collaborating with other nonprofit organizations in the future.

The first phase of the project will be in Baitadi, Dharchula, Bajang, Kalikot, Humal, Jumla, Mugu and provide free surgeries for acute burns, craniofacial anomalies, cleft lip and palate, congenital limb deformities, post burn contractures, bed sores.

For our mission, we need help to set up our repository and buy following plastic surgery instruments: plastic surgery basic instrument set, cleft lip and palate set, liposuction set, microsurgery set, surgical loupe, sutures etc. along with other medical supplies worth around $18,000 USD.

So, please contribute to our project: RE-constructing Nepal: bringing smiles back. Also, we will induct the donors of the first phase as promoters for helping during the initial phase of the project. In future, we will keep you updating about the project and our work.

The team comprises of a dedicated team of Plastic Surgeons, doctors in Nepal along with Nepalese residing globally with a common aim to help Nepal in different capacities. We hope to receive support from our friends and family as well as alumni of St. Xavier’s Campus, Budanilkantha School, Little angels School.
