SMACH FOUNDATION AIM TO IMPROVE MNCHC SERVICES IN NIGERIA

Hello everyone,

As Public Health Practitioner, I have passion supporting and helping the most vulnerable populations in most need.

My areas of interest include: Maternal, Newborn and child-Health care (SDG3), Nutrition Sexual Gender based violence (SGBV), HIV/AIDS and PMTCT and Malaria prevention, care and treatment in hard-to reach areas.

My voluntary working Experience: I worked with Faith Alive Foundation in Nigeria as a volunteer midwife providing free services to HIV/TB patients at plateau state Nigeria.

Humanitarian field work experience: I worked with Medicins sans frontiers (MSF) Doctors without Borders in Northern Nigeria. And I was privileged to participate in Advanced support in Obstetrics emergencies (ALSO) such as prevention and treatment of (direct causes of maternal mortality e.g. bleeding, infections, prolonged obstructed labor and complication of unsafe abortions which are preventable). Also, I worked with International Rescue committee (IRC) supporting ministry of health (10 Primary Healthcare centers) in Yobe state Nigeria as well as helping and Supporting women of reproductive age, internally displaced persons camp (IDPs) in rural and hard-to reach area. In July 2020, I completed COVID-19 Emergency response with Medicins Sans Frontiers-MSF in pulka Field project providing responding to Emergencies.

Now I feel I have acquired the necessary skills and tools to reach several communities across the country using knowledge sharing.

TARGET POPULATIONS: All women of child- bearing age: pregnant and lactating women/girls, people living with disabilities, Internally Displaced persons, and children under the age of 5 years.

TARGET LOCATIONS: Hawul Local Government Areas, Borno state Nigeria.

LONG-TERM PLAN: Hoping to reach vulnerable people from other parts of Borno state, Yobe, Adamawa, Plateau, and Northwestern part of the country.

Ending pandemic, maternal and newborn mortality and death of children under the age of 5 years is a global objectives and together we can save lives!
