Reforesting Amazonas, Putumayo

Hello everyone,

For me and my wife, it's beautiful to be able to give back to the jungle what was taken from it. We call this campaign “The Science of Forgiveness”, it was started spontaneously by us in 2017.

The Science of Forgiveness

My name is Carlos Maria Rimoldi (45); my origin Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. Together with my Colombian partner, Harumi Mora (29), we began to reforest this degraded land, initially due to illicit crops.

Later, at the beginning of this century, the Colombian government decided to fumigate the entire region with glyphosate. The lands became infertile and the population was left without work and unable to cultivate their land with food.

This region of Amazonian forest was devastated and unable to recover naturally.

That is why we want to continue with the reforestation work, which has been going on for more than four years.

The money will be used to buy small trees from the local people, then they will be donated to the indigenous communities, affected by the aerial spraying. We want to ensure that the forest recovers, and that the local population values ​​the trees that are still standing, as a source of seeds to continue reforesting the region.

I have dedicated the last fifteen years of my life to working for the land, seven of which I dedicated to working as an unpaid volunteer in national parks and private reserves in the Amazon.

The jungle is a common and necessary asset, we are all responsible for taking care of our planet and leaving future generations a house with more abundance.
