Please help me bounce back! Help!

Hello everyone,

My name is Bassey Thompson, a young man at 33, with family and 3 elementary school age kids who lives with me in Akwa Ibom State 111011 Nigeria, and I need your help. Here is why you have to help me. Here is my story.

Before February 2020, my printing business was moving fine with all tools and printers working perfectly well while I make enough revenue to service the loans I took to procure my machines prior Covid-19 as well as pay staffs and trainees their monthly stipend and remain some to take care of myself. All of a sudden, I noticed a decline in monthly income with a sharp increase in cost of paper, ink and other raw materials to an unbearable level. I was devastated. I have just borrowed an outrageous sum from close friends, bank and loan houses to purchase 2 DI printer machine, one large format Epson P20000 color printer, cutting machines and other smaller tools in a bid to operate full scale printing press, all that including the rent. I had 18 months to raise back this money and pay out all loans. All of a sudden, Covid-19 sets in and I watched everything go down every single day until it became obvious I was out of business while accumulating massive debts.

By March 2020, the Federal and State governments had declared lockdown and all businesses had to stop. It dawned on me that I am in a big mess. It got messier when the entire savings I have cannot pay one loan because I had only just begun to operate and create a brand for only 2 months. By September 2020, I needed to pay the bank or I will loss the machines and everything else. I emptied all savings and sold smaller tools along to settle the bank, meanwhile, there is still lockdown, no business, no school, no clients, zero income. By October 2020, I have sold the bigger machines at an emergency amount, twice as less the amount I bought them. Lockdown was eased by October as Elementary school and high school was reopened later October. I lost all clients or maybe, the clients did not have anything to print since businesses have been shut since. I depended on school banners and flyers to make revenue; I have sold machines out so I had to take jobs elsewhere to do them. By December 2020, I have completely settled bank loan, faced with friends, who understood and waited.

Help me bounce back please!

February 2021, another lockdown was enforced in some States. My supplier was affected, so no business for me, besides, I didn’t have jobs to deliver. April 2021, as life was biting my friends, some of them lost their jobs, some got their salary slashed and some just resigned because the conditions of working became unbearable in terms of payment. The pressure for their refund all came on me. I sold everything I bought with the borrowed money plus 60% of older tools I already had. I sold out 4 laptops out of 6 we had. In brief, Covid-19 destroyed my business. I cannot talk about the health impact, all I thought as I was selling was that I will have to die, but first, I needed to pay everything and everyone I owe, so to rest well wherever I will go. By September 2021, I have paid all loans, I have refunded everyone.

The day I paid out the last loan, depression sets in, I gave into it. Suicidal thoughts flooded my mind; I separated myself from people and became a shadow of myself. Two months later, help did not come from anywhere, until a sympathizer told me about Airfunding to let the world know my predicament and come to my rescue. As at now, 97% of my business is gone and I only have my phone and one laptop remaining. Help me bounce back please!

With $1500, I will:

1. Procure 1 DI printer which cost $880

2. Pay $320 for shop rent

3. I will use the balance of $300 to purchase initial raw materials (Ink, paper, etc.) and do adverts to announce my return to business.
