Story
PCs for B40 
Identity VerifiedHello everyone,
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the education system has moved to a more computerised version. According to the Education Ministry of Malaysia, in 2020, 36.9% of students in Malaysia do not possess an electronic device during this unprecedented time. Hence, many students especially from the B40 community (underprivileged), were unable to attain or continue their education.
We are a group of students from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia and Manipal International University, working to battle this issue by programming and assembling raspberry pi computers whilst outsourcing the PC accessories to donate a full computer set.
Thus, the purpose of this project is to build, program and donate affordable PCs to the B40 community students, in the effort to ensure they can attain or stay involved in education amidst this Covid-19 pandemic. With the purpose of the project in mind, aligning with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), we hope that the donation of computers to the students in the B40 community can assist them in continuing their education amidst this pandemic.
