Midnight Van - A short film.

I am Nice Githinji, a performing artist who is immensely driven, change-oriented, a force to be reckoned with, a leading light in the Kenyan creative scene, and a consummate professional with a track record that is hard to miss. 

"Midnight Van" at its heart is a story about consequences and the effect they have on the human conscience. The overall aim of the story is to serve as a reminder that all our actions, subconscious or otherwise, all have direct and very real consequences. 

The setting of the film - a city plagued by post election violence - is a story all too familiar in African states and therefore provides an opportunity for this movie to cross borders. On a social front, "Midnight Van" also seeks to shed some light on how media houses control the narrative as well as the hand they play when it comes to proliferation of political issues, especially around election season.

The film "Midnight Van" could not be more apt taking the coming elections into consideration. Consequently we would like the film to be seen all over the country, by as many people as possible. This will be made possible by distributing it online, on all local TV stations and setting up open air theaters with the help of a projector, within the villages/social halls, at no cost. 

In this regard; that our film is not for profit, we'd like to raise these funds to cater for production costs which include paying our cast and crew, transportation costs during distribution and dubbing (translating) the film into 9 Kenyan dialects.
