I need help to complete my dental surgery

My name is Sarah.

I am a single mother of 11 year old twins. I live in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands in the countryside in a small home I built myself. We have a small veg garden and an array of farmyard animal friends (piglets, ducks and a donkey).

Before COVID, I had my own small artisanal wood fired oven bakery making sourdough bread. In the last 2 years I have been trying to get a small fresh juice business off the ground to bring in some finances.

A year ago I was diagnosed with extreme bone loss in both my upper and lower jaws. According to the dental specialists i am pretty unique and in the 1% of the world who have as extreme a case as I do.

I pretty much ticked most of the boxes of possible causes ranging from small teeth roots, breastfeeding twins for 2 years right through to smoking daily for years.. I am no longer breastfeeding ? and have stopped smoking too.

I saw a range of specialists and found Dr Rhonin Naidoo in Durban to do the surgery and Dr. Ashwen Singh in Umchlanga to do the prosthetics.

The total cost of the treatment I needed was quoted at R700000 a year ago. My father moved mountains to assist me with the initial R400000 for the initial surgeries on my upper and lower jaws. Where most of the infection was cleaned out, synthetic bone inserted and specialized implants from Sweden drilled into my jaw bone.

It was a hugely traumatic experience as I was awake on the chair for a total of about 10 hours all together (6.5 hours for the upper jaw and about 3 hours for the lower jaw).

I have healed extremely well and have had no complications with the implants.

I am due for the second round of surgeries to remove the remaining teeth and clear the remaining infection and affected bone.

The quoted costs have increased as the quote was given in 2021.

The upper jaw surgery is booked for April 20th 2022 and will cost around R130000. The lower jaw surgery would then need to be completed in May/latest June 2022 and will cost around R130000. The final phase can be within a year of completing these surgeries and will cost around R100000.

Unfortunately due to a range of complications part of which was due to the amount of rain and hail experienced on my farm

Meant that the cash crop I had been relying on died and I have been left really short on finances for the2nd phase of surgery set for April 2022.

I feel desperate as the surgery is urgent as the remaining infection needs to be cleaned out before it spreads to the previously cleaned areas and synthetic bone and implants as this would mean that the initial surgeries and cash spent would have been wasted?

This surgery is in no way for aesthetics... it is for the function of eating and stopping any further bone loss as the initial bone loss was extreme.

I have faith that my financial situation will improve and allow me to complete my processes in the next 2 years. The time frames for me to complete the infection clearing surgery are very short and cannot be put off for a year let alone 2. I am backed I to such a corner and really don't know what to do.

And so I find myself humbled and asking if anyone can possibly help me. I know it is a huge amount of finances that I am needing. Please know that every little bit of help that I receive will be so hugely appreciated.
