DANCE IS IN EMERGENCY X ENCOUNTER - FESTIVAL VERSION

Hello everyone,

We are the Emergency Dance Collective and we want to invite you to contribute to the tenth version of the Encounter.

Now I will tell you a little more about what it is about...

We emerged in the year 2011 with the intention of bringing dance closer to its social context. The first Encounter was held in facilities of the Christian Humanism University.

The impact that it reached in its call encouraged new versions and deepened the experiences by opening the Encounter to new formats, themes and locations such as public space .

Thus obtaining a greater scope of audiences as well as the appropriation and re-signification of public spaces.

It has been 10 years since the version of the Meeting, to date the spaces for the development of the arts (movement) are reduced to theaters or halls or defined spaces for their execution aiming at a specific public.

In this way we bring the works and artistic proposals closer to other realities, generating a final instance of conversation that compiles their sensations, opinions or proposals around the experience of the Dance in Emergency Encounter, being a concrete exchange of social bonding.

That is why in December 2022 we want to reconvene to well-known artists on the scene so that they can open the work format to the street, inviting all audiences to be part of the performance tour.

This year the selection of a specific site is the district of Quinta Normal, Santiago de Chile, for its historical and patrimonial context.

With your donation or diffusion you can contribute to the circulation of works, the payment of fees to artists, the good use of the free time of the communities and the resignification of public spaces.
