Foldable Chopping Board

Hi everyone,

I'm Wan Ting, the student from University of Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Malaysia. This is our group project for the assignment of Food Innovation, which requires us to innovate a product that contribute to food industry. With that, my group design a foldable chopping board that comes with the placements for knives as well as small things or ingredients.

We design this to give the convenience to people for outdoor activities that involve cooking. The foldable design makes the whole product is not consuming space and the placement for knives makes the sharp knives are easier and safer to bring out. These are the main concerns we design this product. Lastly, the hole allows the small chopped ingredients to be pushed and dropped to the small container below it. After using, the hole also allows us to hang it up at the suitable place to give more working space for cooking or other activities.

Now, we are going to make the product. The material we use is high-end wood, named Oba Suluk, which has the anti-scratch properties to avoid bacterial growth on the chopping board and can last longer. Because of this material, the cost is about RM200 not including labor cost. We estimate the total cost is about RM300 after taking account into the labor cost and postage fee. Since we are students and my group only has 5 persons, we would like to raise fund to support our product and reduce our financial burden. With that, thank you for your attention and support.
