I received a voluntary internship acceptance from the Graphic Era University of India as part of the "Decent Work and Economic Growth" program of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals. So, is it enough to get accepted to realize this opportunity, and who am I?

About me and what I do

• I am a millennial with 7 siblings. I am a 3rd-year Business Administration student at Istanbul University. I started my university life with English preparatory education at Sabancı University. I had to transfer to Istanbul University due to financial difficulties after my preparatory education and many volunteer projects from Sabancı University, in which I very willingly enrolled in.

• Upon my transfer to Istanbul University, I have always tried to pursue and create my own opportunities, realizing that due to the quality of education, I have to make more efforts to close the gap between me and my global peers and to create positive ethics globally. Thus, I gained different experiences and successes in departments such as sales, marketing, and business development in internships and projects of various institutions in which I was involved in many sectors.

• I have also been a university student coordinator for nearly two years at a non-profit organization that conducts relief activities for disadvantaged people in countries such as India, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Here, many universities and university students from different departments contribute to goodness projects in line with their interests, improve their skills and move on to become virtuous world citizens.

My next goal

In the next process, I want to gain new experiences in this international platform, improve my English level, and contribute to the 8th of UN Development Goals 'Decent work and economic growth while using the various experiences that I have gained so far. Therefore, it was designed in line with this goal and included many 21st-century studies such as research, analysis, presentation, and leadership.

I want to go to Graphic Era University in India, which I have always dreamed of, and become a competent global citizen for a more livable world.

But of course, it is not enough to be accepted to the project, because the internship program I was accepted to covers only the expenses of food and accommodation. Unfortunately, as a result of the increase in the dollar exchange rate and transportation costs, I do not have the power to cover the cost of the flight ticket to India. For this, I need a round-trip flight ticket, India visa fee, and project fee. Although it seems like a big amount for us, I think that I will not miss this opportunity with your support because of this amount, which is not even $1,500.

The date I will go to the program: is 25 July- 20 September 2022, which will be made possible with these expenses:

Round-trip flight tickets from Istanbul to New Delhi (India): $700

India visa fee: $103

Project fee: $100

Transportation and food expenses within India: $500
