More difficult to undertake than to survive cancer!

I'm Annette, I'm a physical therapist, I work with the government, a single mother of three children, the eldest 18 years old who is already in college, another 13 and the youngest 8 years old.

I love what I do, I have never complained about working, one of the approaches that I like the most is rehabilitation and maintaining functionality in the elderly. I live in the cocal of Puntarenas Costa Rica, where the project is.

In 2014, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, specifically large b-cell lymphoma with rapid proliferation, and yes, like me, accelerated. Due to this, they performed chemotherapies hospitalized directly in my spine, from the moment I was admitted for the biopsy I had to forcefully wean my son who was only one year and two months old, leaving him intermittently for practically 7 months. since I was hospitalized for 3 to 4 weeks.

Due to economic pressure and my way of being, I went to work and they were still giving me radiotherapy to finish the process, but now doing nothing was not my thing.

In 2018 I lost my house due to a separation as "friendly and quick as possible", which left me with debts but no place to live, I proceed to rent and it is in 2020 when they ask me to vacate the house we rented, For this reason, I decided to undertake the search for my dreams, a property where, in addition to making a home with my children, I would be able to run a social and recreation center for the elderly. (Without limitations or rules, where those who have the energy to dance and live, they could arrive without being tied to government conditions, and this is where this new but truncated adventure as an entrepreneur begins, in a country full of requirements and where your salary full of debts and with which you support three children, does not give to execute a project that is more social than lucrative.

I got a property to rent with a purchase option for one year and negotiable for more, (a year that has already passed) I restored and cleaned it since it was in a lot of deterioration (yet another debt), and the project was going for 6 months quite well, I achieved some activities at a very low cost with older adults in the area, I was able to pay for everything and make a reservation for the next one, but this year everything got complicated, I lost the income from an extra job, which generated more income than the liquid salary, with which I could support my children in a simple way, since I am not luxurious but I like to share quality time, they also perform a thyroid surgery and guess, another cancer, thank God and the doctor because of his decision to approach me, so far he does not have to treat me, but this surgery cost me some vacation days, disabling others, but mainly I take away 50% of my energy to maintain the house since I am the one who has I do everything from housework to gardening, and it is to this point 6 months later that I feel like I am myself again, which is why the project fell through and now I need money to activate it.

Costa Rica like much of the world, but especially this community where I live has a large number of older adults, many of whom spend their time alone in their homes, that is why I want to offer them a space where they can share, learn , play, spend the day together. Without having to meet a series of requirements or schedules.

The Funds I am requesting, I want to use to buy:

A mower and a pressure washer (300,000 colones to maintain the garden. So you don't pay monthly.

Buy 20 activity chairs and not have to rent them. 350,000 colones

Fix the toilets. and leave a fund for a small activity.

The truth is that this is something minimal for everything I occupy, someday I will manage to buy the house, but at the moment this is a lot!.

With this help I will be able to resume events, do something without fear of the expenses that this generates and begin little by little to offer them that space they deserve. I dream of one day being able to make this bigger, but this is just the beginning and you will be part of it.
