I want to help my father with his battle with stroke

My dad Ilias Yahaya is a sportsman. Throughout the years of him being involved in disabled sports as mentor, coach, and team manager for the Malaysia Paralympic National Team, he has fully dedicated himself in serving the nation and providing hope and nurture success to his para-athletes.

In return, most of the para-athletes that train under him or have him as their advisor has provided with multiple accolades such as Gold Medals an World Records. He works behind the scene always not as much show but more as a driving force behind Malaysian Paralympics.

For all those years of dedication and pushing oneself to the limit, he has succumb to a stroke attack recently that affects his left side of the body leaving him helpless and limits his movements and what he loves doing most, which is helping out with the development of his para-athletes.

The picture shown is him on the bed of a General Hospital in Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. According to his doctor, there was a blockage on the right side of his brain which resulted in paralyzing his left body and also leaving his left eye with no vision. Even when on his hospital bed he kept thinking of his athletes on how to qualify for the next Paralympics in Paris 2024.

We do not come from a well-to-do family and he sometimes get some monetary assistant from the Penang State Welfare Department and some contributions from me as his son from time to time which is just enough to make ends meet.

Right now my dad needs a few medical and rehabilitation equipment to assist him in everyday life after stroke.

Some of the equipment that are being considered are:

1. A lightweight and ultra-portable wheelchair

2. A Medical/Hospital Bed with reclining and movement assist

3. A portable commode

4. At least 6 months supply of adult diapers and adult diaper wet wipes

5. Some B vitamins to help with the recovery

6. Rehabilitation equipment like stationary cycling and hand motion

This is why we are targeting to raise at least $1,200 USD to help purchase the items above and help assist his way to full recovery. We do not know the exact cost of each equipment as we intend to get the best buy out of it to get better savings.

All funds raised will go directly to my dad's medical equipment expenses, any extra donations that exceeds our target will be channeled through the continuation of the rehabilitation and also to assist those who are in need as well.
