Parkinson's... a Story without end...

Hello everyone,

It appeared suddenly, in a cold November, about 15 years ago, without warning; it settled in my right hand, disguised as a slight tremor, which little by little, was gaining ground, from my fingers, to my hand, from my hand to my forearm, then to my arm, and from there, to my mind and heart ... Parkinson's disease had settled in to stay, forever.... It is incredible what this fateful disease can cause, change and degenerate in the body and in the deep psyche of the human being... from experiencing a gradual loss of the most elementary functions (writing, reading, tying a shoelace); to serious neurological lesions (ataxia, speech lesion, cerebral edema, difficulty in swallowing, breathing difficulty)... It is to experience on this earth, a kind of black hole, which absorbs you slowly, without giving you any kind of respite...

I understood (but did not accept), that death had arrived, but that it simply made a waiting anteroom.

And with the aggravating factor that generated in a taxing way, an immense sum in the long term, in the economic issue and what this represents, more when one is the pillar of your home and family...at 38 years old (I am now 53), to be left without house, vehicles, work, savings, colleagues, friends. ...and not being able to let pass in an indifferent way the great conflicts that are generated little by little, like that drop of water, which continuously hits the granite rock, in the same point, until this one, no matter how strong it is, gives in and breaks into a thousand pieces...

Aaaaah!

The economic factor, is a cruel trap and more when you are used to give without expecting anything from anyone...

The monthly cost of a Parkinson's patient, in a stage or stage IV of VI...ranges between 300 to 500 dollars a month, without food and care, and without producing a single penny. ...

The complicated thing is that you go into crises, withdrawal type crises from the base medications (usually Levodopa+ carbidopa); which are extremely complicated, traumatic and painful, they are called stage OFF, and it is like being turned off in life...
