AID to people with disabilities DIBC program

HELP to carry out the DIBC program. Community Based Inclusive Development (CBID) aims to improve the lives of people with disabilities within their community. 

Asociación de Madres Organizadas para la Rehabilitación "AMOR" is a non-profit organization, which offers totally free programs and services to children, adolescents, youth and adults with Intellectual Disability with emphasis on Down Syndrome; Sensory Impairment (hearing and visual); Physical Disability; Multiple Disability. From a comprehensive approach with biopsychosocial approach,  from Prevention, Rehabilitation, Habilitation and Inclusion, implementing the strategy of DIBC Community Based Inclusive Development.

Asociación AMOR provides its services throughout the geographical area of southwestern Guatemala, covering the coastal part of the departments of Quetzaltenango and San Marcos through its headquarters in Coatepeque, Quetzaltenango, and  its sub headquarters in Pajapita, San Marcos and Ayutla, San Marcos, increasing its coverage to the surrounding areas and other municipalities of the departments of Retalhuleu and Suchitepéquez, through the DIBC program.

The majority of the population with disabilities are members of vulnerable and discriminated families both socioeconomically and geographically, despite the fact that public services pay some attention to this population, access to specialized programs and services and the scope of their needs is very difficult and difficult. Being the main factors: the difficulty of mobilization due to their disability condition as well as the distance and geographical conditions, in addition to the scarce economic resources and different social problems that affect the family nucleus such as; disintegration, abuse, discrimination, migration and others, conditions that worsened due to the pandemic of COVID 19,  leaving with a greater degree of vulnerability to this population to whom we intend to take through the DIBC program,  our free programs and services such as: Early Stimulation Therapy; Sensory Integration Therapy; Communication Therapy; Special Education; Physical Therapy; Occupational Therapy; Psychological Therapy; Medical Care; Dental Treatments. Through our technicians and professionals who have portable equipment to provide these services. Being our need to have the economic resource that allows us the mobilization and transportation of this special equipment of DIBC. So that it can travel to different communities providing the opportunity to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities  and their families.
