Fencing around our Scout Hall is needed urgently

Hello everyone,

We are a Scout Group that has been in existence since 1938. Over the last few months, our Scout Hall in Sandringham, Johannesburg has been hit by multiple burglaries.

Our gates and fence posts were stolen by scrap metal thieves, which caused the entry of criminals on three separate events. First the outside floodlights were stolen. Then they broke in upstairs and stole all the stationary for our Cubs, and broke the den door down

On the 31st December, the downstairs section where our Scout Dens are located was broken into, and all our equipment, including the Rover Crews Ceremonial axe was stolen.

It has cost a large amount to get a new fence up, new gates, floodlights repairs and replacing critical equipment including Heavy Mallets, axes, tents etc. This has all been funded by our troop scouter from his own pocket. The City of Joburg who we lease our property from has refused to repair their fences. Nothing is being done to stop the criminal element in the area, and any money we raise will go the securing our Scout Hall with a Clear View Fence to ensure the safety of the Cubs, Scouts and Rovers.
